Totally Informal Transglobal Challenge: Changing Seasons Spring arrived in George Town, Exuma with an amazingly strong display of power. It came in the form of wind and rain. The night was dark. Lightening and lights from other ships at anchor were the only illumination. I saw wind as high as 45 knots, but others saw more than 50 knots of wind. I was much too busy trying to keep Shibumi into the wind to read the wind instruments. We were anchored but I wanted to keep as much pressure off of the anchor as a could. A catamaran that was anchored east of us broke loose and started dragging on its anchor. It tangled the anchor line of a boat off of our port bow. When it broke free of that line it drifted toward us. Shibumi was still anchored but I power her off of the wind and out of the path of the errant catamaran.
