December 15, 2006

Well that does it. What a GRAND experiment this year has been. I did not think I could do it. But I did.

Today marks my 365th day of unbroken Picture a Day. One full year of always having a camera within reach. One full year of processing and uploading a photo each day.

What I did was not phenomenal, but I had a lot of fun with an upbeat collection of my favorite photographers. What a great community pBase is. Thank you.

It is time for me to focus on other things, but the camera will be a part of my life from now on. I want to do more reading and more writing than I have this year. I will maintain my blog and will continue to store my photos here on pBase. The less frequent extension of this gallery will be Dave's Ocassional PhotoJournal. So I'm not leaving. I just won't be the constant PBase fixture that I had been in 2006.

With that I'll say it again, what a GRAND experiment this year has been. Thank you all for your great encouragement. Good night.

A fantastic achievement. I'm sure it's been a painful pleasure, but certainly something you can look back on with pride.
Congratulations and enjoy your future endeavors.

Ah Dave I missed this, and I am sorry I didn't congratulate you.
A fine job you've done, and I am looking forward to your next sea voyage cause I think you promised me a seat aboard.
Well done, my friend.

That is a marvelous accomplishment! Your presence has been a real inspiration to me and I, for one, will miss seeing the daily log of your life. You have taken some awesome photos during this year and I hope you will bless us with many more in the future.
Merry
Christmas
and a Happy New Year : )

Yes, congratulations on 365!!! Will continue to watch for your posts even if they will be more sporadic. I see you are reading "Audacity of Hope". I want to pick that one up too. Time to read and write are good things. Glad you will continue to blog too. Hope you have a wonderful 2007.--Rene

Congratulations on your achievement Dave. My own anniversary is quickly approaching. While I have always managed to take a picture a day I have not always been able to find the time to post it--and even less time to get around to everyone else's images. (Which is more my loss than theirs most likely--I learn a lot from seeing other's images.) All I can say is I hope to do better in the future...

Outstanding work.

Congratulations on your achievement David, and I'm glad to hear you will still be around as your style and approach is quite unique on PBASE (probably due to the extremes in your life, from where you started to where you are now). You are an important part of what makes this community so varied and interesting!

Great self portrait to end your Padding. You look very introspective as you type your last comment and then smile at us and fade away. Not for long I hope. :)

I would say that your experiment was a success. I too have found out a lot about my camera, and maybe a little about me thus far. Glad you made it and hope you continue to post photos from time to time, because I enjoy you sharing a little piece of your life.

Congratulations to completing a year of pad! Anybody, who tried knows how difficult it is to upload one image a day for 365 days in a row. Yours always was one of the most enjoyable and creative (your entry to the music challenge is a point in case, as well as today's image), and I am looking foreward to your future achievements, even if it will not be possible to see them on a daily basis.
