December 21, 2005

Guess what I worked on today.
Many people may not see much beauty in a 25-year-old rebuilt diesel engine.
Those are the people who have not depended on a diesel to bring them home from the sea.
Although *Shibumi* is a sailboat we use this Perkins diesel more than 60% of our time away from shore.
I think it is beautiful.

Hey, at least you can work on it. Engines in new cars are impossible. It really does look nice all painted blue. And very clean.

There's certainly more character here than there is under the lid of my little Renault Clio (with apologies to her!) : )

I like the framing, and love the internal combustion engine.

I understand why you would love this. Sounds like a fun labor of love.

Looks like it has had good care, Captain
Will you be casting off soon?
Now do you have a satellite dish so that you can stay current with your Pad?
Have a good one

That looks like a Detroit Diesel. I had one like that in my old shrimp boat, a skiff.
Nice touch with the frame work
