What are you reading, now? I'm reading "Teacher Man" by Frank McCourt.

At the age of sixty-six McCourt wrote the Pulitzer Prize winner, "Angela's Ashes" after he taught high school for 30 years in New York City. "Teacher Man" was his third memoir. It was on the best seller list back in 2005.

Wish I could relax enough to read more. You've picked a perfect subject and well taken

Great shot Dave. The play of patterns is so wonderful. Don't have time for much reading now. Mostly children books for my son :-)

Mine isn't quite as theatrically written . . . therapeutic . . . perhaps . . . "Periodontics for an Aging America"

Having read Angela's Ashes I shall have no hesitation in buying Teacher Man. He is an author who knows how to "tell it like it is"!
A very light and airy image, I love the stripes!

I'm reading this one...I knew I had to when I watched a TV interview and he said his mother never once hugged him....to me that is unthinkable.

Coleen:
I am in the second chapter of Teacher Man. It is not depressing so far. But in this book he does refer to the hardships of his mother, who I believe was Angela (I haven't read "Angela's Ashes", yet). "Teacher Man" seems to be McCourt's therapeutic (for him) memoir that chronicles his years in front of a classroom. It seems to be building into a tribute to all teachers everywhere.

Is "Teacher Man" as depressing as "Angela's Ashes"? I read every word of it but what misery!

Looks like it should be a good read. I'm reading "The Nine" by Jeffrey Tobin about the Supreme Court.
