A 'cold-front' swung down out of Canada and followed us into the Florida Keys. We anchored the first night just off of Pumpkin Key. Not long after we arrived, the shift in the wind direction caused two of the other boats that were in the anchorage to start dragging on their anchors. Dragging anchors cause sailors to have many sleepless nights. Jill and I were very careful in setting Shibumi's anchor and we were rewarded with good holding in blustery winds all night.
Wednseday morning was cloudy and dizzling when we left Pumpkin Key for Key Largo. Our route took us through open water sounds as well small creeks that wind through the Keys. In Key Largo we met up with Lynn and Lynnette from S/V Caribbean Call. You may remember them from my **December, 2005 PaD** Also in Key Largo were Steve and Janet from the Sailing Vessel Gauneka. It was cold, but the evening treated us to a fabulous Key Largo sunset.
