With Dad's help I was able to locate Hengelo on the map. I think the
population is about 80,000.
Hengelo is where I, Joyce, Karin, and Fran where born. I still recall
the country roads that Uncle Jule took us on in his yellow VW bug and I
was small enough (5 years-old) to fit in that little rear cubby hole.

And dad added this info:
In the center of the triangle Hengelo-Oldenzaal-Enschede was Twenthe Air
Force Base where I was stationed.
Bouke and fam. used to live in Enschede [pronounce Anscheday]. As u can
see it's close to the German border [Gronau]. On
the weekend many Germans used to get in NL to stock up on cheese and
many other products that were cheaper in NL.
.............. Uncle Jule used to live in Nykerk, near Amersfoort, in
the province of Gelderland in central NL.
