This is a visit to the last garden in the Sandy Spring Museum Garden Tour
It is built on a heavily wooded lot on a slight hill above a little valley
Don found where the hobbits live!
I always find the grass paths fascinating
This property has an authentic late 1700s carriage house
Looking up towards the house; newly built late 1700s house
Most of their plants are peonies and roses!!
The back of the house; it was fascinating
and extremely well done
Don looking down into the valley
Me in front of the house
Back of the house
A hidden pond with statues
Brilliant blue clematis growing on the ground
1700s gate closer
Peonies and roses
Peonies like this
Roses like this
These didn't get as much sun as you would expect them to need!
Many, many different varieties of peonies
And bearded iris
Don overlooking the Chelsea garden
Baptisia and iris
Roses and blooming bush
This absolutely perfect birdhouse was just put up the morning before our visit
This part of the garden had four separate garden rooms
With hedges between them
Spectacular iris
Center of one of the garden rooms
Immaculate white fences
Wow -- this garden has been photographed for magazines and books
I don't think I saw any plants repeated, they had so many varieties!
Interesting use of fencing inside the larger garden
With an urn
another view
Sherbert orange
Roses!
Iris and baptisia
More iris
Bright bright clematis
The owners are standing in the doorway and sitting on the bench to the right; VERY nice people!
The flower bed right in front of the house
With hedges and paths
Another view

Spectacular view; what a great garden!!
