Marble Church

Bodelwyddan North Wales

The ‘Marble Church’, St Margaret’s was erected by Lady Willoughby de Broke in memory of her husband. She laid the foundation stone on the 24th July 1856 and it took over four years and £60,000 to complete. With pillars made of single shafts of Belgian Red marble and the nave entrance pillars constructed of regional Anglesey marble.
There are 116 soldiers graves from The First World War, 83 Canadian and 33 British.
Much controversy surrounds the Canadian soldiers buried here.

The church must be beautiful inside as well, lovely image John sharp and good colour. Such a controversy, influenza, mutiny or Bolshevik plot all seem to have been a part.......Jess
