Hello again, John and thanks for all your recent comments. Glad you liked Linda's Split Rock Lighthouse shot. She also made the shot of the Duluth Ship Canal with the James R. Barker coming into port. This newer generation of ore boats (people around the Great Lakes call them boats, not ships) really are huge - a thousand feet long! They transport iron ore from Minnesota's Iron Range to steel mills on the lower lakes. When ore traffic shuts down in December because of ice, you can find most of the ore boat fleet sitting out the rest of the winter at docks all around Duluth and Superior.

I enjoyed browsing through the galleries John. Beautiful landscapes - a window into your world. Thanks for sharing them.

Hi John! I just stopped by to see what you've been up to the last few months. I must surmise that your rich uncle died or you've robbed a bank! A 5D with L glass??!! Wonderful!

Hi John,

Just popping by to say hello and have a look at your pictures from the South Stack. I had a wonderful first time in Wales, and came home to Canterbury with lots of cool shots and a Snowdon landscape album for inspiration. I need to go back to Wales, with a wider lens!

Love your night shot of the Conwy Castle (the one from the bridge) and the South Stack lighthouse (from top of the stairs).

Happy shooting!

Dear Routerer,
I wonder if you would give me permission to use your picture of the church in Llangristiolus in an audio-visual presentation about Christianity in Wales. No entrance fee will be charged.

Whoops, sorry for the double post on your "Ye Olde Ancient City of Chester" gallery. It certainly deserves double congratulations, but I'm sure you'd like to delete the extra. Thanks, John, for your comment on our shot of the 2008 Lunar Eclipse; was it cloudy in Cheshire? I'm still trying to warm up after that photo session in the 10 below zero F. temperatures. We pay a price for clear skies this time of year in the Duluth/Superior area. I see, from the previous post in this guestbook, you have another admirer from our fair city.

Thank you, John, for your encouraging remarks in both our England Gallery and our mailbox. Very much appreciated. And thanks, too, for the opportunity to look through your galleries. I enjoyed your tour of the English and Welsh countryside and especially that lighthouse shot. We must get back to the UK sometime soon. When you have the time, you might like to take a look at the lighthouse photos in our Pacific Northwest and Wisconsin/Minnesota galleries.
