One of our other volunteers, Tom, calls this alligator the Lord of the Marsh. This gator is probably a male (you can't tell by looking--they have to be examined internally), and it apparently fought with another male at some point. There is a huge hole in its lower jaw, but the skin has healed completely.

I tend to get too close to the gators. I had to back up to get this photo.
