Valparaiso Jan. 2016
Two people had left bath thingeys hanging out of the overheads they used. |
A non-English speaking driver picked us up at the airport & took us to a very attractive winery on the way to Valpo. |
Emiliana Organic Winery - lillies, vineyard, mountains; very beautiful |
We just walked around a bit, no tour, no taste, but enjoyed the scenery. |
 Emilana Organic Winery |
The area, Casablanca Valley about an hour from Santiago, has many wineries. |
Then we did a quick tourless, tasteless stop at Casas del Bosques. |
We got checked into the ship, ate lunch & went back out to sightsee a little. Did lengthy port bus ride & then took the Metro. |
Went 3 stops to Porto stop near Plaza Sotomayor |
Walked toward a funicular, loving colorful part of Valpo |
Funky, colorful Valpo Cerro Artilleria area |
City has lot of hills (cerros) and ascensors to help navigate the hills. Most are old and rickety. |
We paid a small amount of pesos & got a front row seat going up. |
Going by a cafe perched on a cliff was pretty memorable. |
Valpo from top of Artilleria ascensor. At top were a Maritime museum, vendors & views. |
