Southern Caribbean Cruise from San Juan - March 2014
I was flabbergasted to find the town of "Ruth Howard" on Grenada's map. Wish we could have visited it! |
I loved the Grenada flag with its nutmeg and vibrant colors. |
Back near the port, I & others walked through the Sendall tunnel to get to the rest of the town of St. Georges |
I trudged up to the fort, which had surprises: a lighthouse (which I knew about) & a fitness center (which I didn't). |
And a shoe repair shop where I spoke to the shopkeeper. He told me where to see ladies repairing police uniforms! |
Fort George in St. Georges, view from our porthole |
The next day was "at sea" day - taking it easy, checking out the ship & taking weird photos of the ship (like this reflection!) |
In St. Thomas, I took a local "bus" (safari truck) across the island to the Red Hook ferry (pictured) to nearby St. John. |
Cruz Bay, St. John, is a nice town, and St. John is less developed than St. Thomas. Didn't go to beaches, just walked around. |
A (very) few of its residents/visitors are a little too Jimmy Buffetty, but at least this guy's t-shirt gave me a laugh. |
Howard won a free specialty restaurant dinner for 2 so we enjoyed the trendy food/presentation at QSine. |
Thru our porthole we saw people on the helipad; asked if we could go (yes) & crashed a special German activity. Sehr gut! |
