We saw a number of sea otters wrapped in kelp. They weren't hugely close, but Gary didn't want to disturb them (cropped 200mm).
Loved the scenery
Loved little Niko!
On the way back to the harbor, Gary took me close to the non-functioning but pretty Rockwell Lighthouse
When we got back to the harbor, men were mending nets. I wanted to go to Fortress of the Bear but no way to get there (holiday)
Howard went back to the ship and I went off to do what I love to do - explore!
Walked up to Baranof Castle Hill, where Russia transferred AK. Here's St. Michael's Cathedral from there.
I walked along the waterfront & saw pretty arts school/camp
Reached Sitka National Historical Park but had little time to check it out.
Next day was for traveling to/viewing Hubbard Glacier. The morning was gray & misty. We saw this glacier on the way up.
Lots of bergy bits!
Late morning; time to go up top. Next time, if drizzling, take lens hood & 2nd lens cloth, or go to sheltered deck. (Go to pg 3)
