Our ship docked right at the edge of the city. I woke up to clanging of metal & thought our dog had jumped into the bathtub due to thunder. The gangway was being attached outside. We and 4 other cruise passengers took an all day tour offered by Exploring Cantabria/posted on Viator. It was called Picos & Potes, and included visits to an important monastery, the Picos de Europa, and the town of Potes. Howard & I had a great day out with guide John, excursion finder Joyce from CA, Cathie from Chicago, and Dean and Beth from Perth. There was plenty of scenery, fun, laughter and a BOB joke that wouldn't stop. Lunch was great until the waiter set a large plate of food in front of me, long after my soup and tastes of other people's nibbles were gone. Our choices for lunch had been called in while we were looking at the Picos, and I had only glanced at part of a menu before telling John what I wanted. I thought I was ordering just soup, but apparently that soup was part of a big special "Cocida" meal. I'm told the look on my face was priceless when the second part of it came.
