Visited Salaverry & Truijillo on a cruise, spending a very full day on a ship's excursion to see totaro traditional fishing boats, several Moche archaeological sites, and enjoying lunch with a Paso Horse show with traditional marinera dancing at a beautiful hacienda outside Trujillo. A 20 minute stop in Trujillo at the beautiful Plaza de Armas really challenged my "quick photography" skills. But I tried my best to capture some of the beauty and color of this plaza in 20 minutes before boarding our coach to go back to the ship. We left the industrial port of Salaverry, weaving through many small shipping vessels and escorted by huge numbers of sandwich terns. A British cruiser had asked me what they were and I correctly guessed that they were terns of some sort. He looked it up and found sandwich terns fit what we were seeing. I will remember the wonderful and varied things I saw in Salaverry, Peru for a long time.
