RIP Allison - age 9 1/2

She came to us March 2, 2001 from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. She was 9 months old. They called her a "mixed husky" but after seeing a lot of white german shepherds, we think that was her primary "mix." She died suddenly on Sept. 29, 2010 of hemangiosarcoma (shepherds are predisposed)

Excerpt from RAINBOW BRIDGE - author unknown

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who are hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

On the day we could pick her up, I came home from work to find Howard asleep, with Allie stretched out alongside the bed.

She was only 9 months old, but very mature, and didn't need the crate for more than a couple weeks.

She was seldom bad, but once in a while she tested our patience! (2007) She also tested Susan C's patience (howl, howl, howl!)
