Spent a day in windy Wellington. Took the shuttle to center city & walked around a bit. Wanted to get to Miramar for a short visit to the WETA Cave. However, the person at the iSITE info center convinced me not to take the public bus -- too long and infrequent! Instead I signed up for an inexpensive tour by XPlorer Tours. It was an OK tour for the price, with a somewhat unusual, opinionated tour guide. I got to see the WETA Cave, Wellington sign (Hollywood style sign), Beehive, ride the cable car, etc. Before & after the tour I saw Civic Center area & the beautiful City to Sea Bridge, Te Papa area, and waterfront. I know there was a lot in Wellington that I missed, but cold and hunger pushed me back to the ship a little early. When we departed at 5, I started watching for lighthouses. Tomorrow we'll wake up in Napier.
