Cliff Palace from the overview. There are guided tours every half hour so you have to wait for the visitors to clear out.
Oak Tree House in an alcove viewed from Mesa Top Road. It was built in 1250.
I was intriqued by this split level house - New Fire House taken from Mesa Top Road
The wind was whipping up & it had turned cold. Howard explored the Sun Temple & then waited for me.
Mesa Verde is beautiful in October! We left the park and drove to nearby Cortez.
Howard's Augusta Military Academy buddy met us, took us to dinner in Dolores, and showed us his home town (Cortez).
Left the next AM. Passed Ship Rock (sacred to the Navajo) right before sunrise.
