London & Edinburgh, late July 2013 on Oceania
I had made an online friend who (pre-cruise) offered us a ride from his home town to Edinburgh. Thanks, Stephen & Sheena! |
In Edinburgh, we took a HOHO bus. This is the Salisbury Crags, left over from volcanic eruption. |
Of course, there are lots of things in Edinburgh to interest readers/writers - here's Robert Burns' house. |
Calton Hill, statue and bird from the HOHO bus |
 The mighty Edinburgh Castle. |
Beautiful Scott Monument from Waverley Bridge. You can climb up but we passed. |
It was a day before the huge "Fringe Festival" started, & the city was positively humming. Here's a busker... |
And some joker decided to decorate David Hume, one of Ed's most famous statesmen! |
Waverley train station, North Bridge & Bank of Scotland |
The pigeons seemed to like the statues, too! |
View of city from Calton Hill |
We ate lunch near Waverley Station |
