Our last port of call on our cruise was Lima, docking at the commercial dock in Callao. We had a day of sightseeing in which Howard & I went to center city Lima to see churches/convents and Plaza Mayor. Then after an overnight on the ship, we disembarked, and were taken to the Plaza Santa Rosa in nearby La Punta. A driver for Peruvian Local Guide took us to our Miraflores apartment. The view from our apartment was spectacular, and we loved the park across the street. We were very glad we had found this place (Miraflores - Frenta al Mar) on Booking.com. An hour later Maribel from Peruvian Local Guide came and we went on a short, fairly local tour along the Miraflores malecon. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Astrid y Gaston in San Isidro, after promising our friend Sam we would explore top restaurants in the dining-rich Lima area. We met Peruvian Local Guide Maribel for a short, local walking tour. The next day we saw more of the Malecon & I went to explore photogenic/artly Barranco. (See next gallery for Barranco). We both fell in love with its beautiful Plaza Mayor, and it charming cliffs, beaches and restaurants.
