Floatplanes are everywhere
Airport is on another island; must take ferry!
When we left Ketchikan, I noticed this steep street - wow! What do people do when it snows/ices up?
Guard Island Lighthouse
Had dinner at Polo that night.
Woke up next day in Juneau. Cabbed it to AJ dock, where we rented a car. This diagram reminded me of totem poles!
Drove an old but adequate Lincoln Continental to almost the end of the road - 40 miles - to visit Shrine of St. Thesese
Had to cross a short causeway. It was in a pretty area west of Juneau maybe 30 miles.
There was a large crucifix
And stations of the cross interspersed in a garden. As is usual in Alaska, there were green things everywhere.
Then we went to Mendenhall Glacier, which is 13 miles long.
