The one block long walk up to Saxman was fun.
The totems there seem to be recently painted. Not sure why this guy has his tongue out. I passed on getting a formal tour.
It was raining so I didn't stay more than an hour, but it was fun to identify snakes, men, etc. on the poles
A number of the totems had things way up top.
Of course, I HAD to take a picture of one of the 2 eagles on poles.
Saxman Clan House, where the Tlingit ("klink it") people gathered
If you walk around enough, you can take a picture with multiple poles
I thought this guy was cute.
Closeup of the Clan House & its bear theme
All of the totems were within a two block area; easy to view them.
Took the silver bus north to Totem Bight. This park, in a rain forest, is more spread out & has a more attractive feel to it.
