Made a little road trip mid-June to Ithaca for a wedding. Misplaced some photos I took so here are notes so I can remember what we did. We drove through rural PA, passing oddities like the Biker Church. We arrived in Ithaca and went to check out our AirBnB off Hanshaw, which was really close to the beautiful church (St. Catherine of Siena) where Katie and Luke would marry the next day. The AirBnB room/bathroom, host/hostess, and location turned out to be perfect for us. We drove to the huge, hodge-podge campus of Cornell, which was really hopping due to the fact it was reunion weekend. (No wonder hotel prices were sky high!) Then we drove around the lake (Lake Cayuga) and stopped for lunch at a popular lakeside roadhouse. Then it was just a short drive to Taughannock Falls overlook, where we found a wedding taking place. After ice cream, we went "downtown" to find the Farmers Market, where Katie and Luke's reception would be the next day. During the rest of the weekend we visited Ithaca Falls, where 2 people were fly fishing in front of the falls, and snooped around Ithaca, which turned out to be a very colorful, young-feeling city. I saw two decrepit topless lighthouses on the lake, and photographed colorful, fun things. The wedding itself was wonderful, and I got to see some cousins I rarely see, which made it even better. It was my first trip to Ithaca and that part of NY, and I found it to be an enchanting place.
