Waking up to rain on the Terrace was not a good sign, and yep, we experienced a lot of rain that day!	New port - Invergordon! Oil is important here.	We were welcomed by a bagpiper.	We rented a car & drove to Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness near village of Drumnadrochit
We just beat the HOARDES of tourists that descended upon the castle. What madness!	Urquhart	Urquhart	My TomTom worked in Scotland and helped get us off the beaten track.However, it was NOT able to find Nessie!

Invergordon Music Song & Dance Group performed on Marina for us before we sailed away.	The whole group, minus one singer.	Oil?	Woke up in Lerwick, Shetland Islands, closer to Norway than rest of UK. Felt I knew it, after watching webcams so much!
Saw the "floatels" brought in to house oil workers. Short tender ride to town.	Rented a car. Previous renter crashed the manual Kia we had reserved, so Bolts asked if we could drive an automatic! Um, yeah!	Driving on the left, blind summits, one lane roads with occasional passing places, and fog - whew! Howard did great.	Mussel farming!
Bolts recommended heading north 1st & we did, to Esha Ness. It was foggy but beautiful.	The Prius warned us of close objects, and cliff-side, this was no joke! It was a long way down those cliffs!	SO green up at Esha Ness	Crypt and graves at a church

In Gulberwick, we saw cute Shetland ponies - wow! They are NOT all over the place, so I was thrilled.	Ponies	We drove right past hole 8 of the Asta Golf Glub near Scalloway	In Braewick, we saw camping bods
Not much time to go south, very foggy, end of puffin season - but then I got to Sumburgh & there they were!	Puffin party on the cliff at Sumburgh Head nature reserve	Puffin	After a half hour, they all flew off, but by then I was stoked!
It's a puffin party!	Puffins, as viewed from behind the stone wall	At 4, back in Lerwick, I stood in Market Cross so Shelby & Tom could see us on the webcam. (Yes, flag's backwards.)	City Hall in Lerwick was closed, so I couldn't check out the stained glass windows
Clickimin Broch outside Lerwick (stone strategic fortification from many, many years ago). Broches are common in the Shetlands.	Where else but on the Shetlands does a main road cross an airport runway?! (Sumburgh Airport)	Farmers mark colors on their sheep in case they wander	And wander they do! (Sumburgh Head)
At sailaway - dramatic Shetland scenery!	Bressay lighthouse at sailaway	Back on the ship that evening, the pool was 100% scary! North Sea was a bit rough that night - rock, roll & pitch!!
