We flew to KEF on Icelandair, arriving early morning August 3. Had to jump through a lot of hoops with Iceland and Viking because the delta variant of Covid was wreaking havoc. But it was worth the effort. We boarded Viking Jupiter later that morning after getting breakfast at Harpa Concert Hall and doing a little walking around. I explored Reykjavik in the afternoon. We were allowed to do so on our sailing, but those on next were not, due to changing Iceland/Viking requirements. The ship stayed overnight and the next morning I took a "Through the Lens" shore excursion to the Reykjanes Peninsula. Howard took Viking's included excursion around the city. Jupiter then sailed at 6 as we said goodbye to the city and started a circumnavigation of the island. We were able to get an impromptu reservation at the Chef's Table (Asian Panoramic menu - Howard's favorite). It stayed light that night until at least 11 PM but by the end of the cruise we would actually see semi-darkness.
