Flew to Tampa Saturday morning. Sunny but only 55 degrees. Went to Fort DeSoto, south of St. Petersburg. Saturday afternoon, drove to Titusville and visited Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge in the late afternoon and then early morning Sunday. Fairly dead there but still pretty. Then on to St. Augustine, stopping to see the Ponce de Leon lighthouse near Daytona. Monday in St. Augustine. Tuesday, drove back early to Tampa to revisit Fort DeSoto and catch an 11:00 ferry to Egmont Key - tortoises, lighthouse, beach, fort, and ruins. Flew back to BWI Tuesday night. Over 800 miles in 4 days, and WAY, WAY, WAY too much fun!
