Anhinga Trail, Feb. 26, 2012 & Dinner w Jorge & Kiki Feb. 25

Flew to Miami a day early for our Caribbean cruise. Had dinner with Jorge and Kiki in Miami (yum - SO good, churrascuro (sp?) steak was incredible!) The next morning I drove to the Everglades, and spent a couple hours photographing critters on the Anhinga Trail.

They are rather pre-historic looking, I think.

I was thrilled to get a good picture of this guy (green heron) as they are shy and small.  You really have to look for them.

This GBH was very cooperative, and sat in the reeds for a long time.  I guess he found a good breakfast and was a happy camper!

Not the most attractive bird in the 'glades (turkey vulture).  One came up and pecked at my camera bag!  NOT shy!

Here I come!  (This looks like a croc, but I think it's really an alligator, since crocs aren't that common in the 'glades!)
