Coron in the Palawan - a beautiful sight after a beautiful journey. |
I was up early and saw this bangka PILOT boat sailing near us towards the Coron dock. |
A fancy bangka sails along with us. |
And of course spidery/colorful bangkas are around. |
Bangkas as far as you could see. Many came to provide excursions. |
Such a beautiful part of the Philippines. By 8 the mist/fog was going away. |
A marching band with majorettes greeted us. |
 Wow! |
 Majorettes next to Riviera. |
Crew & passengers were enjoying this wonderful greeting. |
Ashore, the houses were quite modest. Each had a boat. |
 Coron houses near port |
It's another great day in the Palawan. Tourism, especially water activities, are tops here. |
We went island hopping. Our great guide Dalton introduced me to the term "mamsir," his way of addressing all of us. |
We had to walk a bit over planks with no railings |
We were surrounded by bangkas & peaks |
Kayangan Lake required a lot of climbing |
Lifeguard station at one of the island stops |
 Beautiful place to swim. |

Getting on & off boats was not always easy |
But one prize was this sight: Twin Lakes, Kayangan & other |
Riviera with boat in front. |
And we learned about rafting - placing bangkas nose to tail in a line in crowded places. |
Then people from other boats walked through our boat. |
Keeping 2 bangkas from colliding |
Swimming & snorkeling at one stop |
A woman flailing & yelling a foreign language in the middle of the lake got Dalton's attention. He dived right in. |
Our guide Dalton - a certified diver, was a hero. He swam to her, dived under, & retrieved her cell phone. |
Back on the ship, this section of the small port caught my eye. |
I finally saw a lighthouse! There aren't many in SE Asia. (Howard warned me. This is maybe LH # 607 I've seen worldwide. |
