The ship pulled into Siracha Harbour Deep Seaport, part of Laem Chabang. The port is an hour and a half from Bangkok, so we had obtained permission to leave the ship a day early and proceed to Bangkok. I had made arrangements with a driver named Jack Kosol, and he took us to the Sanctuary of Truth near Pattaya before taking us to Bangkok. In Bangkok we stayed at the Riva Arun Hotel, near the river and with a wonderful restaurant up top with views of the river & surrounding area. We explored Bangkok but didn't really scratch the surface of what there was to do or see there. Then at 2 AM on our second day (night) we flew home on Qatar Airways. It was a grueling pair of flights, but flying business class made it tolerable.
