Australia Cruise - Burnie, Tasmania & Melbourne First Visits Jan. 2020
I told these guys I had nothing to eat - couldn't bring food off the ship, beagle would have busted me! |
Stopped at Hellyers Distillery, an attractive place with food, art & whiskey samples. Creme whiskey was delicious. |
Not sure if this is Mr. Hellyer or not, but I found him attractive. |

Contradictory pair of signs - do we worry about trains or not? |
Melbourne: Backed into Station Pier Jan. 4 soon after bushfires had started to ravage parts of S Australia. Smokey sky today. |

Walked through here many times on 3 different days in 2 cruises. Probably nicest port gate I've seen. |
Walked 5 min. from ship to tram stop Beacon Cove/Port Melbourne 109, bought $14 AUD metro card nearby, took it towards downtown. |
Just over river transferred at Batman Pk to 35, tourist tram. Can take others to go same place (e.g., Federation Square). |
My plans were vague & we ended up in Chinatown (pics by Howard, who always likes a city's Chinatown).) |
Saw typical restos, hotels (including Shark Fin Inn), and a carriage. |
