American Eagle Foundation Webcams 2016 - Screenshots (DC eagle cam)

All "photos" are screenshots taken from an eagles.org webcam (DC eagles) and are copyright American Eagle Foundation.

Eagles mate for life and this is the second year Mr. President and The First Lady have had babies on this nest. It's the first year for the AEF webcam. Mr. President stayed in the area in the winter of 2015/2016 but The First Lady went away, returning in February to re-join her mate. The kids, Freedom (thought to be female) and Liberty (thought to be male), were born in late March 2016 and each took a first flight in early June. In about a year they will be able to fish and catch prey and in 4-5 years their heads will turn white. As of today (July 11) it appears the whole family is out of sight of the webcams and may have left the National Arboretum, Washington DC.

I enjoyed watching this family and learning about these beautiful birds. For more information, please go to American Eagle Foundation's website.

Note there are multiple pages of this "gallery." For a closeup (though may be fuzzy) double click a photo.
