I have a granddaughter who has a real soft spot for ladybugs...but so does her Grandma :)

I always thought a Ladybug was a ladybug and was quite surprised to learn, from a fellow photographer on a recent trip together, that there are many types (species?) of them. What an endless world of discovery!
