Herring Gull
Larus argentatus
This herring gull was dropping clams onto the stoney beach to break them open so it could harvest the meat.
When the shell didn't crack open the first time it would pick it up and fly to a height to drop it again.
Usually on the second or third drop the shell would break open to provide a tasty meal for the gull.
