Chinese Mantis

Tenodera aridifolia

This Chinese Mantis was hunting under the porch lights last night.
It was first found in the U.S. by 1896.
It is sometimes introduced as a biological control agent, however, it will prey on both beneficial insects and pests.
It has actually been filmed taking hummingbirds as well.
