Northern Harrier

Circus cyaneus

Male

This male harrier was hunting over the battlefield in Gettysburg.
I kept hoping he would come closer, but, I was still happy to be able to get him at all.
Males always seem to be so much more elusive and scarce than the females.

Beautiful flight shot, Ann. These guys are hard to get close to.

I've tried shooting these males too. The move very quickly usually low over a field and rarely silhouette themselves against the sky. Very well done, Ann. You nailed it. Vote.

That probably explains why they are polygamous. Nice shot, Ann. New gear? V
