Black and Yellow Garden Spider

Argiope aurantia

Decided it would be fun to do black and white on this beautiful large spider.

This species is known for the zig-zag bands at the center of the web called the stabilimentum.
It is thought that the stabilimentum adds stability to the web, camouflage for the spider,
and possibly acts as a warning to birds to avoid flying into the web.

Your choice of B&W is certainly very effective. Take sharp with lovely detail.
