This was my first attempt to photograph birds from a moving kayak. I was hoping to ground the kayak so I would be still, but, the sandpipers were so close to the shore that I was afraid I would scare them off. It was a beautiful day on the Susquehanna River at the mudflats called the Conejohela Flats, a famous stopover for migrating shorebirds.
