This beautiful cock bird appeared suddenly today and began feeding furiously on some seed that I had put out for songbirds. In spite of all three of our dogs barking incessantly at it from only feet away, he seemed totally unperturbed and fed for a good twenty minutes or more. They are not native, but, still a bright spot on a cold winter day. This is the first pheasant we have had in the yard in probably a dozen years.
