Eastern Towhee

Pipilo erythrophthalmus

This male towhee has been feeding in the yard for the last week or so. This is the first towhee that I can recall being here in the dead of winter. He is definitely a bright spot for this time of year.
Taken through a double-paned glass door.

Both male and female make very bright spots whenever they "scratch" in our gardens! Nice capture!

Wow, a towhee in winter! That is quite the find. I hope he manages to survive (if there is enough food he should be OK). A terrific shot, especially for one taken through double paned glass. V
