Wandering Gartersnake

Thamnophis elegans vagrans

Unfortunately, this young snake had been trampled or run over.

Thanks to Dan Lewis of the The Wyoming Naturalist website for his help in identifying this snake. According to Dan they are common throughout Wyoming.

Well captured, Ann. Our garter snakes are black.

Sad to see a dead one. Very pretty patterns on this snake.

Poor thing. It is always sad to see snakes run over or injured. I love all snakes! V
