Grizzly Feeding on Bison Carcass

Ursus arctos

A bison died of what was apparently natural causes near the Lamar River. It took bears and wolves several days to begin feeding on the carcass which was located very close to the road. Once they found it, it took just days to reduce it to just bone and a few scraps of hide.

Excellent wildlife image. Well done. Vote.
With a 70-200 mm and a 1.4 doubler, you had to be very close. Nice photo. Vote.

Fabulous. The rangers usually haul those carcasses away from the road to avoid trouble. V
