This spider was attracted to a group of pine cones I had hung together as a butterfly and moth feeder. I soaked the cones in beer then smeared very ripe banana on them to which butterflies and moths seem attracted. I got more yellow jackets than anything but one day this spider showed up. Perhaps it was attracted to the insects feeding on the banana concoction.
