The sports photographer that can be seen through Ali's legs is Herb Scharfman. Luck indeed played a major role in this classic shot by Neil Leifer in Lewiston, Maine in 1965. Thanks for the comment, Russ.

Very funny story I learned about this shot. Neil Leifer, the guy who took it, was actually a rookie sport photographer at the time and didn't think he would get a good shot. The guy looking up between Ali's legs, can't remember his name, was at the time "The Sport Photographer". He is forever immortalized in not getting the shot :). Just goes to show you it's all about right place right time.

This might actually be a shot by Walter Iooss of Sports Illustrated. http://www.walteriooss.com/walteriooss/index3.html Not entirely sure though.

I like the timing, the way the boxer is still yelling... I would say it is a good start but I am not a specialist.
