The Wellsville mountains to the Northeast of Brigham City-part of the Wasatch Front of the Rocky Mountians. These mountains are the steepest (not tallest) mountains in North America. The 'slope' is quite great with no foothills. The valley floor is 4200 feet, while the tallest peak here rises to almost 10,000 feet in a very short distance. On the other side of thes mountains to the east is Cache Valley and Logan, Utah.
