9 Apr... Rescued from the cat

I caught Murphy under our bed with this baby squirrel. I managed to rescue it and took it back out into the garden but even though it appears unharmed I'm not sure it will survive. It's so young and didn't seem to know what to do.

Could you perhaps call animal rescue or the Humane Society? They would know who to contact for assistance. Sometimes local vets will also take in small babies like this until arrangements can be made for rescue.

Have you had storms recently? Perhaps it fell out of the nest. If so, it probably will not know how to survive on it's own.

A lovely capture, and lets hope it's a successful release

Great pictures! Like everyone else, I hope he makes it- you've given him the chance to, at least.

I think this is about the cutest little thing I've ever seen! I've never seen a baby squirrel before....sure hope he'll be ok.

Oh the poor thing, he's sooo cute. Sure hope he'll make it, better keep your cat in for a while... Mine keep dropping mice and birds at my back door too, even found a rat once.
I'm always sad in spring, when they catch the little birds that have just flown out of the nests.

It's probably scared half to death, poor little fella.

it is always sad when cats do this but they are doing what comes natural to them. I hope t he little sweetheart survives. Nice image Rose.

Did you know that by releasing it you were actually breaking the law? Invasive non-native pest species an' all :o)

Tough having outdoor cats! Dealing with situations like this would make me very sad.
Nice, picture, however.
