We visited a local farm for their annual lavender festival today. We had a fascinating tour of the lavender fields and learned lots about the different types of lavender, how they grow it and what it can be used for. We tasted lavender ice cream, lavender fudge, bought some lavender essence to use in cooking. The sunshine was glorious and the colour of the fields was stunning - and the scent too of course. Now we've found this place, and it's barely 20 minutes drive away, we'll definitely be going back. They have a shop which is open all year round.
