We made friends with this beautiful and very proud mother and her four gorgeous kittens who were born in a large terracotta urn in the hotel lobby !! They had no owners and no names, but the mother, who we nicknamed Sheba, was extremely sociable and wandered around the pool area during the day, persuading people to give her tidbits and even joining them on their sunbeds !
There were other cats living around the hotel too - we came back to our room one afternoon to find two of them curled up in a chair on our terrace !

Update: We returned in 2006 and saw the kittens grown into self assured young cats. We returned again in 2007 to find Sheba was now a grandmother ! One of her kittens from 2005 now had kittens of her own ! She brought her kittens to us for feeding in the same way her own mother had done two years earlier.
