Man, this gallery brings back memories! Especially, those images of Central Park. We were between 10 - 14 years old in the spand of years this galleries covers. The names of politicians. . Lindsey, Humphrey . . the big issue Vietnam. All of it comes home loud and clear.

I love this gallery! When I was growing up in New York City, B&W was pretty much all there was. These are wonderful atmospheric and nostalgic images which evoke many good feelings and remembrances for a city kid. Well done and thank you!

I clearly remember those days. Excellent scanning, and thanks for sharing. I still visit NYC off and on. Never forget one day I tried to stand still in between the Two Towers with strong wind. I was able to lean against the wind almost 25 to 30 degrees without holding anything.

Great gallery! Even though I wasn't even born back than it brings back this good old time feeling. NYC before 9/11, before credit-crunch, before a lot of things and still that time had its own important things and recent events of impact. Nice to old pictures from NYC.
In the 60´was the time I first went to USA and made my contact with NYC.Now, after a great number of visits and just arrive and wait for a flight next day, I build up a great love for this town. Here I`ve a gallery , dedicated to NYC and what I feel NYC is all about.

There are perhaps tens of thousands of pictures on pbase of New York in the past few years, but very few from the 60s. Yours are very interesting to look at.

Those were the "good old days" prior to gentrification of some of the nicest areas of N.Y.C., when people had passion and joi de vivre, strong beliefs in what was right and wrong, interests that went beyond the allmighty buck as well as hopes and dreams for the future................
