Verschaffeltia splendida is one of the grandest palms of the Seychelles. It is not very common but can form dense populations on intermediate altitude. This tall palm can quickly be recognized by the combination of the stilt roots and the almost intact leaves of which the leaflets are only divided after heavy wind.
