Flowers slightly smaller than those of V. tricolor and often with more yellow in the flower. (Viola x contempta)

This is a common hybrid between Viola arvensis and Viola tricolor.

It only occurs where at least one of the parents lives. If you canot find any of the parents the plant you have may be a rather big an colourfull variety of V. arvensis or a small yellowish V. tricolor.
